C'est la seule carte attestant du statut d'étudiant à temps plein, sponsorisée par l'UNESCO et reconnue dans le monde entier. Elle est distribuée dans 110 pays et émise au Bénin par l'ONG SYTO Bénin (Student and Youth Travel Organization) depuis 1999. Aujourd'hui plus de 3 millions de jeunes étudiants et élèves sont détenteurs de la carte ISIC à travers le monde.

As part of it’s humanitarian work, on June 18, 2008 SYTO/BENIN made a donation of wheel chairs to the NGO Bethesda in Cotonou and to the elderly people’s home “PETITE SOEUR DES PAUVRES” of TOKAN in Abomy calavi.
Thanks to SYTO/BENIN these centres have also received donations of pharmaceutical products.
